Heat Pumps

A proven, highly efficient renewable heating solution.

Renewable Source

Low running costs

Less maintenance

A whole new level of energy efficiency

Heat pumps are not only renewable and environmentally friendly, they’re incredibly efficient. Many modern gas boilers are now approaching 98% efficiency, yet a properly installed heat pump can exceed 300% efficiency due to the way they can multiply heat energy.

How it works

Heat pumps are powered by electricity and work by using a small amount of energy to ‘pump’, or move, heat from one place to another and multiply it instead of creating it from nothing. By pulling heat out of the ground or air, a building can be more effectively heated. Conceptually, air conditioners and freezers are similar to heat pumps with a focus on cooling spaces rather than heating them.

All shapes and sizes

As an independent company we can source heat pumps from a wide range of suppliers, and with years of experience we can recommend the best fit for your project.

So whether you want a heat pump which is ground source or air source, basic but reliable or the Rolls Royce with smart home connectivity, we can recommend the best heat pump to suit your requirements and budget.

Ground Source
Heat Pumps

In a Ground source Heat Pump coils are laid underground below the frost line where it is constantly several degrees warmer. This heats is then circulated and used to warm a refrigerant and generate additional heat within the property.

Air Source
Heat Pumps

An Air Source Heat Pump works by extracting latent heat from the surrounding air and leveraging the principles of vapour compression to generate heat. It’s similar to how a refrigerator works, but done in reverse.

We are the Heat Pump experts

We’ve been specifying and installing heat pumps for over 30 years and can help with every aspect of your project, from specifying a heat pump to installing, servicing and maintaining it.

Applications for Heat Pumps

Heat pumps can be installed in both residential and commercial buildings, and whether it’s a new build or renovation, we can help find the right system for you.

Government Incentives

By installing an MSC accredited Heat Pump you can get financial incentives through the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme. This will reduce the overall cost of your installation by providing an income over several years. Wilson Heat Pumps can help you through the whole process and have completed many successful applications.
